Monday Night RAW: Results and Photos for September 2nd, 2013

Triple H is already in the ring and his music is playing. Triple H says that he wants to introduce the face of a company. He wants to introduce everyone THE WWE Champion . . . Randy Orton. As Randy makes his way to the ring and past The Shield, Michael Cole says that an unnamed WWE Superstar said that this is a Reign of Terror. Randy makes it into the ring and Randy says that as the face of the WWE, protecting this company is his number one responsibility. He will not let the image of this company be tarnished. If you disrespect him, you disrespect the entire WWE and you need to be punished. Randy mentions Daniel Bryan. Last week on Raw, Daniel Bryan defaced his personal property, an Escalade that Triple H personally gave him. In turn, he has no choice but to deface Daniel Bryan. We see what Randy and The Shield did to Daniel on Smackdown, including the nWoization of Daniel Bryan. Randy says that he will take a page out of Daniel Bryan’s book and play an audience participation question and answer game. Randy’s first question is ‘Should Daniel Bryan face him at Night of Champions for the WWE Title?’ The people say yes, but Randy says no. Does Daniel Bryan have the slightest chance in hell of beating him at Night of Champions? The crowd says yes, but Orton says no. Will Daniel Bryan ever amount to anything in the WWE or will he always be a B+ player? The crowd says Yes. Should Daniel Bryan give up his opportunity to face him at Night of Champions for the WWE Title? Orton says Yes. Triple H says that at COO, he has a number of responsibilities. He is to make sure that the best product is put on each week. He says that the WWE Universe are the most passionate fans. His other job is to ensure the health and welfare of Superstars and Divas. Hunter says that he has become worried about Daniel Bryan. Daniel’s ego gets him into situations like we just saw. That is a problem. Hunter says that the people are not helping because they are chanting Yes. The people are causing Daniel Bryan to confuse popularity with what is best for business. Popularity is not what is best for business. Hunter mentions Doink. Doink was insanely popular. People loved Doink. There is a very big reason why Doink was never WWE Champion. It was because it would have been bad for business. Daniel Bryan will never be WWE Champion. He can reach for that brass ring and he can have some goals. Hunter says that he can bring back the Cruiserweight or European title and Daniel can set that goal for himself. Daniel Bryan’s music plays and he makes his way onto the stage.Daniel says that Hunter and Randy made a lot of really good points. He is thrilled to be compared to Doink. Daniel says that he is not sure if there was a loud Doink the Clown chant in 1992. The only clowns he sees are the two standing in the ring right now.Daniel says that he knows that Hunter and Randy want him to give up his title match. Just like when Hunter gave up being a man when he cut his hair and put on the suit to become a corporate sellout. He says that Randy gave up being in the WWE Title picture until someone decided to hand it to him.Should he give up his Title Match against Randy Orton at Night of Champions? Daniel says that the answer is the same as the answer to the question ‘Is Randy Orton more masculine than Stephanie McMahon?’ and that is no.Randy asks how many times does Daniel have to be punched in the face, triple power bombed or given an RKO before he realizes he cannot win.Daniel tells Randy that no one ever told him he couldn’t do something. Daniel says that he was told he couldn’t do better than wrestle in high school gyms and flea markets. He was told he couldn’t make it to the WWE. He was told he would never make it to the top. He was told he could never be WWE Champion. Daniel says that is what made him the man he is today. He says that he loved the fight to get here. Randy will never understand that because he was given everything.Daniel says that he does not think he can beat Randy Orton for the WWE Championship, he knows that he can beat Randy for the WWE Championship. He tells Randy that deep down he knows it and so does Hunter. They wouldn’t put him in gauntlet matches or have three people beat him down. They would let him and Randy WRESTLE, one on one.Randy may have the genetics of a champion, but he does not have the heart of a champion. Randy may walk around like a big dog, but he is only Hunter’s . . .Hunter interrupts Daniel and calls him a grump little troll. Daniel’s anger is something, but it is misdirected. There is one guy who Daniel should be angry at. That person is seven foot tall and weighs 500 pounds and has an iron clad contract who watches him get beaten down.Hunter tells Daniel that he can take his anger out on Big Show tonight because in the main event, Daniel Bryan will face Big Show.We are back and Hunter and Randy are walking in the back and they see Cody Rhodes.Hunter shakes Cody’s hand and he asks about his dad. Cody says that tonight’s main event will be great . . . as long as nobody gets involved.Hunter wonders why anyone would get involved.Cody asks Randy why avoid the match since Randy isn’t afraid of Daniel. Daniel Bryan versus Randy Orton is what is best for business.Hunter asks Cody if he is deciding what is best for business. Hunter says that he wouldn’t rely on Cody’s judgment. Daniel Bryan versus Big Show is what is best for business. Hunter says that Cody is busy getting ready for his wedding and planning things. Hunter asks Randy if he got an invitation and Randy asks Hunter.Hunter says that he got Cody an early wedding present. He will face Randy Orton.Cody thanks Hunter for the opportunity.Hunter says that it is an opportunity for him to keep his job because if he does not win, he probably won’t be here very long. WWE Randy Orton Theme Song

WWE.COM: The 25 best Intercontinental Champions

#10 Randy OrtonSome Superstars truly are born better. From the moment he first set foot in a WWE ring, it was clear that Randy Orton was destined for great things. This limitless potential was first realized at Armageddon in 2003 when the third-generation Superstar defeated Rob Van Dam for the Intercontinental Championship.
The Viper would go on to have one of the longest reigns of the modern era, defending the title for 210 days against the likes of Mick Foley and Edge. In the eyes of many in the WWE Universe, Orton’s exceptional run as Intercontinental Champion restored the title’s prestige after its 2003 revival.

In-Ring with Ang & Carol: Just Getting Started

Why you didn’t cover Randy’s divorce in any way? — Janet Johnson (@MzVipersVenom)
Myself and Angela felt it was not relevant to his career. The site’s sole purpose is to keep fans up to date on Randy’s career only. What goes on in his personal life is none of our business, and it is not our place to post about it. We have the utmost respect for Randy, and therefore respect his privacy and the line that clearly separates his personal life from his public career.
What do you like better, Randy with or without a beard? Carol: Oh with a beard, definitely! Don’t get me wrong, I love either look but something about the way he looks when he’s scruffy or has a beard just really works for him. Some guys are just lucky enough to be able to work both looks, and Randy is definitely one of them!
Angela: I’m with Carol, I like him with the beard as well. Don’t get me wrong, he looks great both with and without but there is literally just something about a handsome man (which let’s face it, Randy certainly is that) with a little facial hair. I can’t pinpoint what it is exactly but it’s definitely good, haha!
What do you think about Randy’s current storyline aligning with The McMahon’s? — Kaitlin (@that_katie)
We’re very excited, as you might guess. Having Randy involved with The McMahons in any capacity, especially Triple H, his former mentor, is interesting to say the least. The two parties are hardly partners in this equation but the brilliant part of this entire thing is they don’t need to be. The McMahons had a spot to fill, and Randy just happen to be the best man for the job. I don’t think either party trusts the other party any further than they can throw them but both stand to benefit from Randy as champion. And I have to say, we the fans benefit as well. Randy vs Daniel Bryan hasn’t been done so many times we’re already bored at the thought, and these two can really put on a great match from what we’ve seen so far. They both have diverse in-ring styles, but neither is so different from the other that they clash. These are exciting times in the main event picture, and we’re excited that our guy is the one leading it.
Top 5 favorite opponents Randy’s ever faced?
Carol: Dolph Ziggler, CM Punk, Mick Foley, Shawn Michaels and Evan Bourne.
Angela: Triple H, Dolph Ziggler, Shawn Michaels, CM Punk, and Edge.
What old school wrestler in his prime would you have liked to see Randy face?  Gary Graham (@BaltOs1Fan)
Carol: Arn Anderson, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Macho Man Randy Savage and Jake the Snake Roberts.
Angela: I agree with every one of Carol’s answers on this one but, just for kicks I’ll throw in Stone Cold Steve Austin. I don’t really consider him “old school” persay but, a match between the two in their prime would have been money.

Friday Night Smackdown: Results and Photos for August 23rd, 2013

Vickie Guerrero is in the ring and she welcomes everyone to Smackdown. On behalf of the McMahon family, it is with great excitement that she introduces the new WWE Champion, Randy Orton.
Randy makes his way to the ring.
Randy says that as their new WWE Champion, he promises to give everything that they want and deserve. They will aspire to be him. He promises to be a role model. A role model tells the truth. That is what he did. He told everyone, especially Daniel Bryan, that when he cashed in, none would see it coming.
None of you, including Daniel Bryan, should be surprised at what happened. Randy says that he is the one who should be surprised. Sunday night, he did not know that Triple H was going to pedigree Daniel Bryan. Randy says that he is not one to pass up an opportunity literally lying in front of him.
Randy says that he did not need Triple H’s help on Sunday and he did not need The Shield’s help on Monday. He appreciates the support from the entire McMahon family, but he also wants the support of the fans. After all, he is not only the WWE Champion, he is also the face of the WWE.
Daniel Bryan’s music plays and he make his way to the ring.
Daniel enters the ring and he has something to say.
Daniel says before he addresses the face of the WWE, he wants to say what he was going to say on Raw before he was interrupted by Stephanie McMahon. He has a short message for John Cena. He tells John ‘Thank You’. He thanks John for giving him the opportunity to wrestle him at SummerSlam and for being bold and courageous enough to wrestle with an injured triceps.
If he was better for just that day, it gave him the chance to feel what it was like to be WWE Champion.
Daniel tells the Face of the WWE that it is time for that face to change. Daniel says that he doesn’t look like Randy Orton. Randy is chiseled. He is tall. He’s pretty. He is so pretty. Daniel says that he can see why Triple H likes him so much. He is so pretty. Daniel says that Randy is also arrogant. Randy has been handed every opportunity in the WWE.
He has created his own success, but his opportunities have come to him because his father and grandfather were here. He has been given the genetic golden ticket to be in the WWE.
Daniel still can’t get over how pretty Randy is.
He tells Randy that he is so pretty it makes him want to kick Randy in the face. Daniel says that he had to scratch and claw for every opportunity. He had to wrestle in every dirty gymnasium and on staph infected mats. He had to sleep in his car and he had to earn every step. Daniel says that he is not tall and he is not pretty.
Daniel says that he can wrestle. He can beat Randy. Daniel says that he can beat Randy for the that and he points to the WWE Title belt.
Daniel says that he is entitled a rematch for the WWE Championship. He says that he wants that rematch to happen tonight.
The fans like the idea of the rematch.
However, Randy tells Shortstuff that he will have to wait until Night of Champions. Orton tries for an RKO but Bryan avoids it. Bryan kicks Orton and Randy goes to the floor.

After the match, Daniel Bryan celebrates and goes around the ring. He is attacked by Randy Orton, who was hiding under the ring. Orton gives Bryan an RKO and we go to credits

In-Ring with Ang & Carol: Introduction

Today marks the beginning of a new feature that we are introducing here on the site. The title being “In-Ring with Ang & Carol” which implies that we are are metaphorically stepping into the squared circle to bring you our thoughts on the current goings on of Randy’s career, including quick draw questions and special guest commentators. The column will be coming to you on a weekly basis (or whatever our schedules allow) and will clearly be focused on myself and Angela breaking down the weeks events but also answering specific questions submitted by you for us to answer, with the occasional general-specific wrestling related questions mixed in to keep it interesting.

Monday Night RAW: Results and Photos for August 19th, 2013

We are back and The McMahons are in the ring, The Shield are protecting the ring and the rest of the roster is on the stage.
Triple H makes his way to the ring.
Vince says that this is a wonderful night. Tonight is the night for the coronation of a new champion that everyone can be proud of. Vince says that he is most proud of his son-in-law. In the end, he did the right thing and he saw the light. Vince hugs Hunter.
Hunter asks if this is the time that he has to explain why he would screw over Daniel Bryan. He says that everyone is so short sighted. He did this to insure the future of the WWE. He did this for everyone. He did it for the wrestlers on the ramp. He did it for Vince McMahon. He did it for his grandfather Jess McMahon and his father Vince McMahon Senior. He did it for the genius who gave this to everyone.
He did this for his wife and their children so this would exist for the future.
Hunter says that he likes Daniel Bryan and he is a fan of what he does in the ring. Daniel is a very good little technician. He gave John Cena a hell of a match and he deserved to win. WWE Champion? Face of the WWE?
The crowd chants ‘Yes’ while Hunter says ‘no’. He says that the people deserve better than that. Everyone deserves better than that. They deserve A+, not B.
Hunter says that we don’t have to worry about Daniel Bryan’s personal problems. Did Hunter want to throw away the 15 years of blood, sweat, and tears? Hunter says that it hurt him to do this to Daniel Bryan.
Hunter asks if he liked doing this with the new WWE Champion? There is no love lost between them. There is a lot of water under that bridge, but he buried his personal feelings for what was right for the people. He buried all of his bitter feelings to do what was right for everyone.
For Daniel Bryan to say that he had a problem with that, he doesn’t care. Hunter tells Daniel that saying he has a problem with that is selfish. It is not all about him. Hunter tells Daniel he needs to check his ego at the door, just like him. It is about the WWE Universe. You do what is best for business.
Hunter says that he will put his personal feelings aside and he brings out the future and face of the WWE. The coal that has become a diamond. He introduces the new WWE Champion . . . Randy Orton.
Randy makes his way to the ring as only Randy Orton can. Randy makes it into the ring and he shakes Vince and Hunter’s hand and then he holds his hand for Stephanie, but she hugs him.
Randy says that he told everyone that when he cashed in, you would not see it coming. Now he stands before you for the tenth time as the Apex Predator of the WWE. Randy says that he is usually not one for thank yous, but he can make an exception. After what Hunter did for him, he is not ashamed to tell him that he owes all of this to him.
Orton shakes Hunter’s hand and they do the hug of respect. Orton says that everyone should stand up on their feet and show Hunter the respect that he deserves.
Hunter knows that Daniel Bryan is in the building so he wants to get this out in the open like men. He wants Daniel to come to the ring and tell him face to face. Daniel can have a good cry so he can move on with his career.
Hunter tells The Shield to move to the side since they are probably intimidating Daniel. Hunter tells anyone who touches Daniel on his way to the ring, there will be problems.
Hunter asks the people if they want to see Daniel and he gets them to start a ‘Yes’ chant. He even tells them to play Daniel’s music.
Daniel makes his way to the ring.
Reigns, Rollins, and Ambrose attack Bryan before he enters the ring, but Bryan fights them off and he sends Reigns into the ring steps. Bryan and Ambrose exchange forearms and then Rollins goes after Bryan but Bryan with kicks. Bryan with a hip toss to Ambrose.
Reigns with a spear to Bryan and then Ambrose and Rollins kick him. Hunter stops them from giving Bryan a Cerberus Bomb.
Hunter wants Daniel to come into the ring to say what he has to say.
Bryan climbs into the ring but Orton with an RKO.
Hunter holds Orton’s hand and the McMahons celebrate.

Randy Orton — Wrestler

Tuesday, August 20, 2013

In Conclusion...

Orton's list of accomplishments has grown greatly in his young career and he's had some interesting moments along the way. He started out with a little reffing on the side, he became the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in WWE history, he's a backstage monster, he spent time in military prison, he and his father have done it all in wrestling, he used CM Punk's theme song for a night and he's not only dangerous in the ring, but also out of the ring.
Randy Orton's character may be getting a bit stale, but he's got enough excitement going on outside of the ring to keep fans entertained. With WrestleMania 29 just around the corner, expect Randy to find a feud in the next few weeks.

He's the Youngest World Heavyweight Champion in WWE History

Randy Orton has been enormously successful in the WWE. He's worked with some of the best past, current and future Superstars in the business and has rarely looked weak.
Orton's lineage and huge WWE opportunities paid off in 2005 when Orton, as a part of Evolution, defeated Chris Benoit in a World Heavyweight Championship match at SummerSlam.
With the win Orton became the WWE's youngest Superstar to ever hold the World Heavyweight Championship at the age of 24.
Orton's title victory continued paying off, as it lead to him being kicked out of Evolution and starting his solo career in the WWE.

Biography

Randy made his wrestling debut in 2000 at the Mid-Missouri Wrestling Association-Southern Illinois Conference Wrestling (MMWA-SICW) in St. Louis, Missouri before being signed signed to a developmental contract with WWE sending him to Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW).

In April of 2002, he made his official WWE television debut taking on Hardcore Holly in a match on Smackdown. Later that year he was moved to Raw brand but within a few weeks he was sidelined with a shoulder injury. He continued making regular appearances on WWE television, going as far as attacking targeted Superstars with his crutches and giving fans constant updates on his medical progress — whether they wanted them or not with his infamous “RNN News” bulletins. Returning to active competition in May 2003, Orton was instantly recruited by Triple H to join with the legendary “Nature Boy” Ric Flair, and the Animal Batista as part of Evolution. Orton captured his first major championship on Dec. 14, 2003, defeating Rob Van Dam for the Intercontinental Championship at Armageddon. He held on to the championship for an impressive seven months.Priding himself as “The Legend Killer,’’ Orton has finished off the likes of Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter, Jake “the Snake” Roberts and hardcore legend Mick Foley. Orton also displays no fear and no respect when confronting legends such as Harley Race, asserting his claim as the true legend of sports-entertainment.
In August of 2004, Randy defeated World Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit at SummerSlam to become the youngest person ever to hold a title in WWE history at the age of 24. The very next night, Triple H arranged a vicious beating for his former stablemate and banished him from Evolution. Independence, however, only made Orton stronger and bolder. When Triple H threatened Orton and demanded that he “hand over” the World Heavyweight Championship, Orton just spit in his face. He then went on to “kill” one of the greatest legends of them all: 16-time world champion (and his former mentor) Ric Flair in a fan-selected Steel Cage Match later that year at Taboo Tuesday. The next year, Randy did something not many superstars dare to, challenge the legendary Undertaker at WrestleMania. Orton gave it everything he had, including some help from his father, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Deadman from going 13-0 at the biggest event of the year.He was put on the shelf with a shoulder injury suffered during his WrestleMania match and wasn’t seen again until he was drafted to SmackDown in the 2005 Draft Lottery, where he continued what would be a 9-month feud with the Undertaker.
In the following years, Randy took on the likes of Rey Mysterio, formed the infamous RatedRKO with Edge to taken Triple H & Shawn Michaels in the reformed team of DX and defeated Jeff Hardy to retain his WWE Title. However, in a title match with Triple H at One Night Stand he broke his collarbone and was sidelined once again. To make matters worse, just before he was set to return from his injury, Randy was in a minor motorcycle accident which kept him out for just a bit longer. He made an unexpected return to Raw at the beginning of September ’08, criticizing all of the champions on the brand. Tag team champions at the time, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase took exception to this and tried to gain his respect.Unsuccessful until the pay-per-view event Unforgiven, the three of them, alongside new recruit Manu, assaulted World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, costing him his title. Shortly after his official return to the ring in November, losing to CM Punk (after a disqualification) Randy formed a stable known as Legacy. They dominated the RAW brand throughout 2009 and part of 2010 before imploding in what would turn into a triple threat match between Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase & Randy at WrestleMania 26, with Randy turning up victorious. The rest of 2010 saw feuds with the likes of Sheamus, Wade Barrett & The Miz along with both title wins & losses. Culminating in a feud with CM Punk late in the year and going on to defeat Punk at WrestleMania 27.
In April of 2011, after nearly 5 years Randy was drafted to the Smackdown brand. Early on in his return to Smackdown, Randy defeated Christian to capture the World Heavyweight Championship for the second time, his 8th title win in his career. He lost the title shortly after in July at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view, only to regain it once again the next month at SummerSlam. Randy would go on to half a handful of feuds throughout the rest of 2011 & 2012 with the likes of Wade Barrett, Kane, Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio & Dolph Ziggler but, of course it wasn’t without hiccups. In February 2012, Randy suffered a concussion at the hands of Daniel Bryan, later on in May of 2012 he was also suspended for 60 days due to his second violation of the company’s Talent Wellness Program. In December of 2012, Randy suffered a shoulder dislocation after being assaulted backstage at Smackdown by renegade faction, The Shield. He returned a few weeks later and has since took on U.S. Champion Antonio Cesaro and Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett in a handful of matches thus far this year.
So what else is in store for the 9 time world champion & 3rd generation superstar? Only time will tell.
